Job Overview

Hubbell Power Systems, Inc.'s (HPS) facility in Wadsworth, Ohio is home to the Ohio Brass brand. With 85,546 square feet, the facility houses 110 employees and specializes in metal oxide varistor production, testing, research and development. The facility manufactures parts for insulators, arresters and cable accessories, producing 5.5 million arrester components annually. Ohio Brass was acquired by HPS in 1978.

Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

  • Shift Hours: Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-1:00am

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising hourly employees in a manufacturing environment. This position plans and assigns work, ensures compliance with policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, operating procedures and working conditions. will plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the effort to produce quality products for the MOV manufacturing plant.

A Day In The Life
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, resources while maintaining high quality products
  • Achieve manufacturing results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; as well as coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Lead teams that are focused on the primary purposes of daily operation through safety, quality, service, and productivity levels within budgetary guidelines
  • Works closely with Management, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure equipment uptime
  • Ensure hourly workforce is flexible and properly trained
  • Pursue continuous improvement in areas such as scrap reduction and effectivity increases, while minimizing cost
  • Support efforts to maintain ISO certification
  • Develop and initiate cost reduction measures
  • Must be available outside of normal working hours for business correspondence, trainings, and emergencies as they arise

  • High School Diploma
  • 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with leading Lean initiatives on the production floor (Kaizen, 5S)
  • Ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team of hourly associates
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Proficiency with using computers and software (Microsoft Office and SAP)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, often under time constraints
