Job Summary
In conjunction with the marketing team, this position is responsible for the success of the School of Continuing Education. The Marketing Specialist will contribute to market research, strategy development, implementation, and dissemination of marketing projects. The Marketing Specialist will work with the School of Continuing Education to market its programs while analyzing results and adjusting for continued growth.
Job Responsibilities:
Meets with program managers to review marketing needs and provides updates and analytics
Creates and implements marketing plans to drive traffic to website, resulting in increased brand awareness and enrollments
Authors, reviews and edits a range of materials for use by internal and external audiences
Consults with internal and/or external stakeholders and marketing team to ensure accuracy and timely distribution of marketing materials
Answers questions and provides information and problem resolution options to clients and stakeholders
Creates weekly and monthly analytics reports for email, social media and website
Applies creative expertise within established brand and style guidelines
Works collaboratively with other marketing team professionals, engages in and responds to feedback, manages project workflow and timing, maintains files and follows established work unit processes

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent higher education in communications, language arts, marketing, applied business, or related field with commensurate experience
One year of professional experience in marketing, communications, or related field (internships will be considered experience)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with website updates and design on the WordPress platform
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook and other web-based software and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, language arts, marketing, applied business, or related field
Marketing experience in a higher education environment
Experience with social media scheduling tools, platforms and best practices
Strong writing experience with Associated Press style expertise
Ability to analyze data and make recommendations
Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience with digital marketing, including email, social media and database programs
