Huntsman is seeking a Product Portfolio Manager supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Americas Regional Operational Marketing Director.

Job Scope

Product Portfolio Manager will work closely with the AdMat Americas Commercial, Technical, and Operational Marketing teams to strategically align the AMER product portfolio with the overall divisional strategy set by Strategic Marketing. He or she will serve as subject matter expert (SME) of our product portfolio aligned to specific markets and is responsible to manage the product lifecycle through assessment, recommendation, & execution of necessary actions to drive optimized profitability.

As the Product Portfolio Manager,, you will:

  • Be accountable for managing the life cycle of products in the assigned portfolio after product launch through end of life of the products to maximize profitability.
  • Support the Strategic & Operational Marketing Teams in the development of product line strategies by providing regional input on key customers, market insight, competitive landscape, and performance parameters that deliver value to our customers.
  • Identify areas for development, growth, or optimization within the regional portfolio to achieve revenue growth objectives by identifying gaps within the product offering, change actions to maximize manufacturing output and profitability, and opportunities for simplification of our product portfolio.
  • Actively support the Strategic and Operational Marketing Teams in the promotion of innovation products including the coordination of a manufacturing and inventory plan to support promotional activities, sampling, and ramp up of sales volumes.
  • Lead any change actions to a product, including promotion, retirement, manufacturing, and price changes. This includes working with various functional areas to ensure alignment and coordination.
  • Assist the Commercial, Technical, and Operational Marketing Teams to develop regional plans to grow strategic products and accelerate new opportunities through the C4C Sales Pipeline.
  • Lead the establishment of a set of cost initiatives with procurement to improve costs and minimize risk of single-source supply.
  • Ensure the best cost position in close cooperation with the regional manufacturing sites.
  • Optimize transport cost to regional customer together with supply chain (logistics).

Additional Responsibilities

  • Enable specialty product volume growth.
  • Maximize regional profitability through aggressive and proactive product portfolio management.
  • Reduce complexity and cost through simplification, strategic portfolio management and optimization.
  • Lead the Product Administration Team to always ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Make creative recommendations to expand product base and vision.

Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

  • Bachelor's degree in science/engineering or any business discipline in marketing or product management with minimum of 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or managing projects.
  • Entrepreneurial minded with a bias for action, sense of urgency, adaptability, and common sense.
  • Ability to view issues from multiple perspectives, and to keep the "big picture" in focus.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with ability to effectively prioritize competing deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Hands-on, detail oriented, highly analytical and organized with excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong negotiation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Project- and/or product-management experience, working across multiple functions.
  • Ability to develop key relationships, both internal and external.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel up to 25% of the time.
