Job Title: Concrete QC Field Technician
Job Type: Full Time
Work Schedule: Monday-Saturday
Supervisor: Concrete QC Transportation Inspector
Travel: Required


Job Overview:
Perform daily inspections prior to and after concrete placement and notify supervisor if any deficiencies exist. Gather data, such as core thickness, straight edge deficiencies, and profilograph smoothness, from previously placed concrete paving lanes within timeframe required to generate reports for concrete acceptance.


Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Coordinate with onsite operations staff to review and document pre-paving inspections in Procore. Record all deficiencies and ensure they are reported to supervisor for correction prior to concrete placement.
2. Collect hardened concrete paving lot data as detailed in applicable specification and transmit to supervisor to ensure report can be submitted within allotted timeframe.
3. Collect any additional QC data from the field that is deemed necessary by operations or supervisory staff.
4. Monitor daily operations to ensure work is being performed within requirements detailed in the contract specifications.
5. Produce daily report with detailed events that occurred including any specific direction given to the operations staff for items that were categorized as deficient.
6. Capture photographs of work that is satisfactory and/or deficient that properly utilize the tools provided by management software.
7. Clean and maintain QC equipment.
8. Wear personal protective equipment while onsite in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
9. Arrive on time ready to perform tasks that fall within your roles and responsibilities.


Qualifications:
* Possess High-School Diploma or equivalent
* Must possess valid Driver's License
* Must be able to obtain Military and Airport badge/pass
* Provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration Document
* ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I (See attached for ACI JTA)
* Concrete Strength Testing Technician (See attached for ACI JTA)
* Or ability to obtain above certifications and any other certification requested related to Concrete Paving Field within timeframe specified during the interview process.


Physical attributes:
o Be able to lift at least 50 pounds above your head.
o Be able to walk long distances and stand on feet for long periods of time.
o Be able to read, hear and understand contract documents and specifications.

I.Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I
Certification Requirements:
ACI will grant certification only to those applicants who meet both of the following requirements:
1. A passing grade on the ACI written examination; AND
2. Successful completion of the ACI performance examination.
The one-hour written examination is closed-book and consists of 55 multiple-choice questions. There are between five and ten questions on each of the ASTM test methods and practices. To pass the written examination, BOTH of the following conditions must be met:
1. At least 60% correct for each of the required test methods and practices; AND
2. A minimum score of 70% overall.
The performance examination is also "closed book" and requires actual demonstration of six of the required test methods and practices plus a verbal description of Practice C172/C172M (sampling). The examinee is judged on his/her ability to correctly perform (or describe, where allowed) all of the required steps for each procedure.
Certification is valid for a period of five years from the date of successfully completing all requirements.
Recertification requires successful completion of both the written and performance examinations.
