How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Regional Driver Trainer is responsible for the administrative coordination of the driver training program, maintaining regulatory compliance documentation, and helping promote a strong safety culture.

Position Title: Regional Driver Trainer
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

In particular, you will:

  • Promote and develop safe work practices. Assist and coach in reducing injuries and vehicle accidents.

  • Oversee Driver Mentor Program including scheduling driver mentors and maintaining the driver on-boarding program and identifying additional mentors.

  • Act as mentor and drive with drivers both randomly and as part of the onboarding process.

  • Quarterly meetings with mentors to review successes and opportunities for improvement in the Driver Mentor Program.

  • Execute the Smith System defensive driving program for new and existing employees that operate a vehicle for the company.

  • Conduct Road Tests as needed and assist managers in completing annual driver demonstrations.

  • Complete follow up training that is identified through observations or accident investigations.

  • Participate in investigations for vehicle accidents and roadside inspections that result in Out-of-Service or adverse findings.

  • Conduct forklift training for new and existing associates.

  • Assist Safety Department as a resource for driver training topics and material for safety meetings and help conduct meetings as required.

  • Assist managers with Potential Delivery Risk site investigations.

  • Monitor Lyxt events and provide guidance and/or training on observed trends.

  • Train managers in DOT paperwork and Site Security and use of Lytx and Omni-Trax.

  • Conduct branch and plant DOT Audits and submit into Intelex. Follow up and assist managers with timely closure of corrective actions.

  • Class A license with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.

  • Minimum 2 years in Manager or supervisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.

  • Frequent travel and potential overnight travel.
