Position: Executive Director - Assisted Living and Memory Care
Salary Range: $105-$115K/yr
Benefits: Bonus Potential
Location: Ovation Sienna Hills - 1525 E Ovation Place, Washington, UT 84780

The primary purpose of your job position is to direct the day-to-day functions of the assisted living building, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern assisted living and Assisted Living properties to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.

This position requires a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the property. This may include evenings and weekends. This position is an exempt salary position.

As the Assisted Living & Memory Care Executive Director, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

Operational Expectations:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Assisted Living community's programs and activities in accordance with guidelines issued by the governing board.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain written policies and procedures and professional standards of practice that govern the operation of the Assisted Living community along with the local and regional teams.
  • Communicate/Interpret the policies and procedures for any team members, families, and/or governmental board/agency as needed.
  • Participate in state/federal surveys of the Assisted Living.
  • Assist the HR Director and department directors in delivering performance-based job evaluations.
  • Work with local and corporate marketing teams to ensure that public information (policy manuals, brochures, website data, etc.) describing the services provided by the property is accurate and fully descriptive.
  • Maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents.
  • Ensure that all suspected or known incidents are reported and investigated in accordance to the property's established policies and/or in line with state guidance. This may include, but is not limited to resident incidents, team member incidents, violation of privacy or internal information.

Team Member Relations:

  • Role model leadership that builds community amongst the team members, fostering a speak-up culture where every voice is heard and listened to.
  • Build and lead a team of professionals that work in harmony to fulfill the Ovation mission for all stakeholders, namely residents, team members, owners and the greater community in which we operate.
  • Ensure that team member counseling and disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, affectional preference, religion, disability, veteran status, or marital status.
  • Ensure that disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap, or marital status with the HR Director.
  • Schedule and participate in departmental meetings to ensure that appropriate information sharing is provided on a continuous basis.
  • Delegate administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to other team members as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties.
  • Lead and direct all training/team development including but not focused on caring for individuals suffering from Dementia, Alzheimer's, and other disorders related to memory loss.

Team Development:

  • Maintain and oversee training to all Assisted Living team to meet the state, and company regulations and standards including safety and emergency preparedness.

Budget and Planning Functions:

  • Prepare an annual operating budget for approval by the General Manager and allocate the resources to carry out programs and activities of the Assisted Living.
  • Review and interpret monthly financial statements and provide such information to the General Manager.
  • Keep abreast of the economic condition/situation and adjust as necessary to assure the continued ability to provide quality care.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in office areas as well as throughout the community and its premises.
  • Moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
  • Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
  • May be involved in community/civic health matters/projects.
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
  • Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
  • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB, COVID19, AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
  • May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
    Communicates with the medical team, nursing personnel, and other department personnel.
  • Maintains a liaison with the residents, their families, support personnel, etc., to assure that the residents' needs are continually met.
  • Foster a strong cohesive team environment that builds confidence and strong morale among staff and high staff retention.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is necessary. A degree in Public Health Administration or Business Administration, or a health-related degree is preferred but not required.
  • Must have, as a minimum, two years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a health care setting.
  • Must possess a current administrators license, be willing to receive one in the first 90 days or meet the licensure requirements of this State.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to proficiently operate a computer. Must possess basic computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with laws, regulations, and guidelines governing personnel administration.
  • Must be able to maintain good personnel relations and employee morale.
  • Must be able to read and interpret financial records, reports, etc.
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this community which include a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the community.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • As part of being an Ovation team member you may be recorded or photographed as part of marketing campaigns and quality assurance. You will be asked to consent to this as part of your new hire packet.
