Electrical Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic, top-notch Electrical Engineer to become a pivotal part of one of our active Aerospace Business Unit Teams. In this role, you will take the lead on creating design solutions for cutting edge products working towards the development of the more electric aircraft. You will be involved in all aspects of paper design/analysis, computer design/modeling, laboratory integration, and development and test environments.

In this role, you would typically:
  • Derive the design definition including customer specification review, technical requirements development and tracking, and reviews verification and validation testing plans.
  • Create original design block diagrams, allocate customer requirements to electrical components, design analog and/or digital electrical circuits, power conversion circuitry, design schematics, select electrical components, oversee prototype hardware build, evaluate design capability, perform circuit analysis, analyze designs for failure modes, and support qualification testing.
  • Serve as a member of cross-functional teams
  • Write technical documentation.
  • Define electrical engineering designs for manufacturability, functionality, reliability, requirement compliance, ease-of-assembly and cost reduction targets.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies and components

We require:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 3 years' engineering experience working in a high technology manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with digital and analog design, motor controls, and system implementations
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Eligibility for any required authorizations from the US government, to conform with US export regulations and ITAR 120.15 and EAR Part 772.

Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

  • An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of military and aerospace specifications
  • A dynamic self-starter with a strong sense of urgency in handling assignments
