PSG/CIP is a community-based social services organization looking for talented professionals like you to join our Youth Outreach team.

The Youth Outreach program is a partnership between Kenosha County DCFS and Kenosha Unified School District. The program utilizes liaisons at multiple middle and high schools within KUSD to support youth at-risk for academic failure, dropout, truancy, and delinquency. Many of the identified youth are also at risk for gang involvement as well as alcohol and drug abuse. As the Middle School Liaison, you will provide support, guidance, and prosocial activities to assist assigned students in learning new skills. Over the summer, Liaisons will support the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOL LIAISON:

  • Formulate, implement, evaluate and review individual client treatment plans.
  • Monitor client behavior and school achievement by conducting in-school checks on a daily basis.
  • Organize structured group, individual and family education or treatment, and recreational activities.
  • Update parents/guardians on client progress and provide problem-solving interactions.
  • Provide supervision and support to youth placed in the Summer Youth Employment Program.
  • Attend court hearings with client and family as needed. Training is provided on this.
  • After training is complete, staff are added to on-call duties to monitor after-hours calls.

LOCATION: Office is located in Kenosha, WI. Position will work primarily at assigned school location, with some time spent out in the community.

SCHEDULE: Hours are typically Monday-Friday during school hours with occasional evenings to accommodate the needs of the program. Position will retain full-time employment during summer months.

SALARY: $21.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
