Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring sub-assembly kits are sorted and clearly labeled, properly identified and inspected for use in sub assembly, and staged properly for build team.  The Inventory Control Specialist  will also be responsible for follow-up on any part shortages identified.  This position will use assembly drawing bills of material to check for completeness as inventory (manufactured parts, purchased parts and stock parts) is received.  This position will communicate with the department staff and builders regarding the status of kits and sub-assemblies.  This position is also responsible for the accuracy of inventory, both location and quantity, of all manufactured and purchased parts in stock and in the VLM system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Machine assembly kit preparation
    • Pick and stage machine assembly kits (mechanical, electrical, non-inventoried items)
    • Utilize organization system to create a visually appealing workflow for the builders via the pallet/cart of picked parts
    • Verify completion of inventory to bill of materials
    • Return parts to stock at end of build
    • Conducts weekly/bi-weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
      • Maintains organization of stocked components
      • Understands products, parts and assemblies in order to effectively and efficiently handle, store, maintain and track inventory utilizing ERP system
  • Track all incoming components for machine builds and customer spare part orders within project BOMS and ERP system
  • Cycle count materials based on the Unisig system which will be monitored by the Inventory Control Supervisor.
  • Research inventory discrepancies and submit accurate inventory and bin location reports.
  • Assist throughout the department to back up all inventory control, material handling and shipping/receiving duties
  • All other duties as assigned

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years of experience or equivalent combination in an Inventory related role
  • Understanding/interest in mechanical or technical products
  • Organized, detailed thought process with high attention to detail
  • Self-directed with excellent work ethic
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook

PHYSICAL REEQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequently lifts 10 pounds unassisted.  Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Regularly stands and moves throughout shop for up to 8 hours. 
  • Frequently climbs, stoops, kneels, reaches and carries.
  • Regularly utilizes computer and monitor requiring sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly utilizes depth perception, peripheral vision and close focus.
  • Occasional exposure to weather
