POSITION SUMMARY:

LG Electronics, Alabama is looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated Data Scientist in purchasing/SCM field. LG Supply Chain Management (SCM) team plays a key role, managing oversea sourcing by liaising with diverse suppliers and ensuring timely material availability.

Traditionally, supply chain management and procurement processes were labor-intensive, but LG Electronics is actively modernizing and automated these practices through digital transformation. To drive this evolution, your role will evaluate and clarify business questions that will lead projects centered around data-driven demand forecast, unmanned procurement systems, and real-time market trend analysis to help LG make a better business decision more efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize big data to translate ambiguous business problems into data science-driven solutions.
• Automate labor-intensive workloads.
• Build business dashboards.
• Lead a project to dramatically improve supply chain productivity and operational processes.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, a related quantitative field.
• Passionately analytical and curious with strong out-of-the-box thinking.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Data and Analytics offerings (e.g., BigQuery, Looker, Dataproc)
• Experience with cloud environments including Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
• REQUIRED - You must have at least 2 years of work experience with analysis applications and coding (Python, R, SQL)
• Experience in ERP system; SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence (preferred)
• Korean Bilingual (Required)
