Responsibilities

House Counsel for State Farm Insurance Company is seeking a Legal Secretary for our Riverside, California office. The most qualified candidates will have personal injury, litigation and trial experience, insurance defense preferred, calendaring/scheduling management with a case management program, and working familiarity with court rules of procedure. Background and experience in propounding discovery, setting depositions, including non-retained and retained expert witnesses, filing motions and pleadings is required in a high volume, electronic case load environment. Experience in drafting correspondence and notices. Provide Remarkable Customer Service to our clients and claims partners. The qualified candidate must be reliable, dedicated and team-oriented with professional appearance and demeanor.

The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend some time in the office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. Please note, in November 2024 the office will be relocating to Ontario, California.



Qualifications

  • 3+ years of legal secretary experience is preferred.
  • Insurance defense, personal injury, litigation experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe and e-filing is highly desired.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience with California Code of Civil Procedure is preferred.
  • Proficiency in software technology, tools, and case management system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity.
  • Potential salary range: $53,750.13-$75,000
  • Potential yearly incentive pay up to 9% of base salary (results may vary from year to year) PM22
