Position Summary

The Kitting & Assembly Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and efficient functioning of all kitting and assembly related activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising workflow of the schedules and managing staff to achieve manufacturing goals.
  • Responsible for assuring the overall quality of the products being shipped and for supervising in-process inspections and verifications.
  • Responsible for staff evaluations and general employee relations
  • Makes hiring, promotion and termination recommendations.
  • Responsible for the safety of department personnel and for assuring compliance with all safety procedures.
  • Interacts with scheduling, customer service, planning and press to assure availability of printed materials to meet delivery requirements.
  • Demonstrated skills in some of the following areas:
    • Navigation and reading job tickets
    • Navigation and operation of production software PSI, E-tickets, and related production e-tools
    • General knowledge of setup and functionality of Kitting & Assembly line equipment
    • Hand fulfillment, kitting, and assembly techniques
    • Company quality requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic job layouts and applications, kitting job preparation.
  • Responsible for determining the most efficient way that a job should be prepared.
  • Ability to work together with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
  • Support of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Works overtime when needed.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily assignments to Line Leads and General Workers.
  • Approves time off and payroll time.
  • Conflict resolution and general discipline to adhere to rules

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Vocational/technical degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 5 + years industry experience
  • Front-line supervision experience plus technical and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic mathematics skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of all kitting and assembly procedures
  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures
  • Ability to communicate/understand written as well as oral instructions
  • Ability to develop new techniques for handling work.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
  • Demonstrate positive safety attitude.
  • Basic computer skills navigating Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects
  • Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Chemicals: N/A

The national pay range for this role is $48,730.00 - $55,780.00 per year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission, or incentive program.
