Schedule Details:Typically, M-F working every 6th weekend and 1 holiday per year. Shifts are 8 hrs and start times vary from 0600- 0830 depending on the day and location.
Performs complex, specialized pharmaceutical duties for the pharmacy department, working under direct supervision of Registered Pharmacists and Pharmacy Management.
Responsibilities:
*All duties as described for Pharmacy Technicians I, II, and Senior Tech tiers.
*Oncology Specialists -Compounds hazardous medications for 50% or greater of their routine daily duties.
*Assists with support activities and processes required to dispense high risk/high expense medications (i.e. Oncology)
*Organizes procurement of medications and supplies for the pharmacy
*May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department, as needed
*Works under minimal supervision
*Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
*Ability to accurately interpret data, determine validity of results, and initiate corrective action immediately
*Thorough appreciation of pharmacy department's role within the organization and interconnectivity
*Oversight of operations on daily basis with ongoing communication to leadership
*Assigns and evaluates work activities
*Makes recommendations for workflow improvements
*Provides training for Pharmacy Technicians I, II, and Senior Tech as needed
*Advanced projects assigned by leadership
*Knowledge of and ability to prepare, release and distribute drugs and utilize the drug distribution system to ensure the safety, accuracy and quality of supplied products.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid WI Driver's License in good standing
- CPhT certification required
- State of WI Pharmacy Tech registration required
- Oncology Specialist require at least 6 months of sterile IV preparation and/or experience preparing chemotherapy/hazardous medication/biologics
