Responsibilities:
INTERLIBRARY LOAN ACTIVITIES:
Scans articles/chapters from print materials.
Screens incoming requests.
Searches electronic databases to verify incorrect information.
Pulls requested material from the book collection.
Packages books for mailing (including preparing proper paperwork); checks out books in circulation system.
Processes renewals for any UAMS material loaned to other libraries.
Follows established copyright procedures.
Processes and sends requests in library system.
Checks in print materials delivered by mail or courier and contacts requesting patron.
Packages and returns print materials that have been borrowed.
GENERAL DAILY ACTIVITIES:
Staffs circulation desk.
Processes payments for printing through cash and credit card transactions.
Balances cash register.
Checks out library material to patrons.
Instructs patrons in circulation policy including loan times, renewals, and charges for lost material.
Instructs patrons in the general use of the online library catalog, e-journals, and electronic databases. In addition, provides general library and campus information.
Maintains public printers by stocking with paper.
Instructs patrons in the use of library printers and scanning.
Prepare custom reports upon request.
Normal working hours Monday through Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm.
Position may occasionally be required to fill weekend shifts in order to provide staff coverage for vacation and illness.
May perform other duties as assigned
