We are the largest private funder of Alzheimer research and the premier source of information and support for the more than 6.9 million Americans with Alzheimer's disease and their 11.5 million family and other unpaid caregivers.

The Opportunity:

The Alzheimer's Association's Public Policy office located in Washington, DC is seeking to hire an Intern for the for the opportunity to learn, experience, work and contribute to the Association's mission of creating a world without Alzheimer's disease.

The Public Policy Intern duties may include conducting research work, report writing, analysis of data, attending coalition meetings, Congressional hearings, and federal agency meetings and producing reports from those events, and developing databases. In addition, interns may work with staff on grassroots advocacy and other projects.

The intern will report to the Senior Director, Operations, and must be able to work 25 hours or less a week.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Student must be actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Advanced with Microsoft Office (primarily Word and Excel) and Google applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must enjoy working as part of a team, be a self-starter eager to contribute individual results, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and project organization/management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including spelling and grammar) as well as copy proofreading
  • High sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising software a plus, but not required.

*This position is a remote or hybrid opportunity and will have a May/June start with and August/September end date.
