Job Summary:

The Program Manager is responsible for the portfolio management of either client-based, or rollout specific programs, as assigned by the Branch Manager, Division Manager, or VP of Operations. The Program Manager supervises multiple Project Managers to ensure all contracted work is executed efficiently and in accordance with IES standards and customer requirements. This includes, but is not limited to safety, quality, scope, staffing, financial management, schedule management, material management, risk management, project deliverables, and the overall client relationship.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management: Lead and manage all aspects of low voltage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that project timelines, budgets, and quality expectations are met.
  2. Program Strategy: Collaborate with Branch Manager, Division Manager, and VP of Operations to define the program vision and strategy. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement for program processes and tools.
  3. Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of experts, including Project Managers, Field Engineers, Technicians, and other support staff to ensure cohesive teamwork and efficient project execution. Foster a collaborative and empowering work environment to maximize productivity and creativity.
  4. Pre-Construction Engagement: Coordinate ongoing communication between the Sales and Pre-Construction teams to ensure that program goals are achieved and to ensure that IES standards and Customer requirements are met.
  5. Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, establish and maintain a strong relationship with the client, and promptly address any concerns or inquiries from the client.
  6. Scope and Budget Management: Develop project scope, budget, and resource plans. Continuously monitor project progress and ensure adherence to established parameters.
  7. Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure all necessary equipment and materials. Ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  8. Compliance and Regulations: Keep up to date with current industry regulations, codes, and safety standards for low voltage systems. Ensure project and team member adherence to all applicable guidelines and regulations.
  9. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies for proactively addressing challenges that may arise during project execution.
  10. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of workmanship. Ensure project deliverables meet all quality control program expectations, emphasizing zero punch list items.
  11. Documentation and Reporting: Develop and implement program standards for project documentation and reporting in accordance with customer requirements. Maintain accurate and up to date project documentation, progress reports, and project metrics for IES management and customer review.
  12. Continuous Improvement: Drive the development and improvement of processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, productivity, product quality, and overall customer satisfaction.
  13. Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate ongoing communication between clients, stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to understand the requirements, communicate project progress, and to manage expectations.
  14. KPIs: Accountable for business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within the program (e.g. safety, quality, client satisfaction, financial performance, program growth, etc).
  15. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional, and lead others to create, develop, and implement project process improvements.
  • Must promote the culture and mission of IES, as well as program objectives to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
  • Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations.
  • Must have proven high-level skills to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to scope, specifications, reporting, and quality metrics.
  • Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Must have the ability to learn Company and customer project management systems.
  • Must be able to successfully secure and maintain a Company-sponsored American Express credit card.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:

  • Must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must have experience in customer and General Contractor interactions.
  • Must have a minimum of seven (7) years supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to supervise multiple Project Managers.
  • Must have demonstrated and verifiable ability to create and manage a project schedule, scope of work, and detailed associated tasks, from project initiation through final completion and customer turnover.
