American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a Privacy Vendor Analyst II to join our Regulatory Strategic Development (RSD) department. This position will ensure vendor and third-party compliance with respect to privacy concerns. Supports ensuring that privacy office matters are handled in a compliant and timely manner as specified by law, regulation, contractual requirements and/or management. This includes oversight of privacy concerns impacting contracts, privacy statements and notices, privacy audit activity and the tracking, presentation and management of actions required to implement changes in privacy requirements in relation to vendors and third parties. It also includes keeping management apprised of privacy matters that will impact the company.

Salary Range
American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $56,700 to $75,000 Full-Time Annual Salary Range.

Remote Worker Considerations

Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment.This remote/WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network (minimum internet download of 50 Mbps and 10 Mbps upload speed).

Responsibilities

  • As directed by management and with minimal supervision, responsible for completing review of privacy related provisions in contracts and other privacy forms/processes that support the company's business in relation to vendors and third parties.
  • Ensures that appropriate language to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, client contractual requirements and accreditation requirements are integrated into vendor/third-party contracts and that use of data under such arrangements is consistent with ASH product privacy statements relied on by the company for its clients and customers.
  • Ensures compliant Business Associate Agreements and/or Privacy Exhibits, are included where required or appropriate in ASH contracts with vendors and third parties.
  • As directed by management, assists with maintaining privacy consent and other opt-in forms and processes required for ASH's business needs related to vendors and third parties.
  • Updates and completes, at the direction of management, annual and on-going assessments of vendors and third parties, including contract reviews and related template updates (e.g., Business Associate Agreements, Privacy exhibits and vendors assessments).
  • As directed by management, tracks, maintains, and reports metrics about company vendor and third-party agreements to management.
  • As directed by management and with minimal supervision, maintains, reviews, and develops policy, procedures, templates, and forms related to assigned Privacy Office functions.
  • Assists with policy review with Policy Operations team to ensure timely review of company policies supporting assigned Privacy Office functions.
  • Assists with contract templates and privacy statement reviews with Contracts and the appropriate business owners.
  • Supports renewing and maintaining privacy or security accreditations and audits of privacy functions.
  • Assists with regard to developing and delivering training for internal departments and staff and vendors/third parties regarding Privacy Office functions and materials.
  • Presents issues to, and completes actions assigned by, the company's Privacy and Security Key Process Team (PSKPT), Vendor Oversight Workgroup, Corporate Compliance Committees and other workgroups related to Privacy Office functions.
  • Provides accurate, timely and detailed reports of all assigned activities to management and conducts follow up on findings as directed by management.
  • Completes all ASH University training requirements, including required regulatory trainings, as well as ad hoc trainings required by management, within required timeframes.
  • Completes external trainings and certifications as required by the Privacy Officer for budgeted training/professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Health Care Administration or Policy, English, Political Science, or equivalent field required. Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Legal degree, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' legal, regulatory, or privacy compliance and/or legislative affairs experience, preferably in a health insurance environment. Experience to include analyzing and monitoring vendor contracts, performing contracts reviews, and conducting oversight of third parties for compliance with legislative/regulatory requirements related to privacy.
  • Specific experience with managed care and wellness benefit programs and related business models in a regulatory and/or product development capacity helpful.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel; ability to work effectively with Westlaw, Whistic, SAI360 and other similar tools.
  • Detail orientated with the ability to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task, and manage time.
  • Strong and effective analytical and writing skills.
