About the role:

CLA is looking to hire a Controller with Nonprofit industry experience for our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice in Wisconsin, who will sit in our Milwaukee or Racine office. As a part of our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice, you will help our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.

As a Controller, you will:

  • Perform Controller functions as part of the client's accounting services team.
  • Be accountable for identifying and implementing best practices related to the services provided to add value to the client.
  • Develops internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Monitor ratio and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of accounting and other financial staff.
  • Coordinates and directs the financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investment activities.
  • Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Six years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and/or Sage Intacct preferred but not required.
  • Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
