Job Description

The Business Manager will Provide results-oriented business oversight and accountability within Continuing Health (Home Health/Hospice/Rehabilitation) and the Value Based Programs. Assist the Vice President and Executive Directors in standardizing all clinical and business operations, achieving highest quality, and promoting care coordination within the value based programs. Essential functions include resource management, program management, and revenue management. Responsible for report retrieval via Stratta and EPIC. This position has wide latitude in exercising discretion and judgement in moving action items, reports and correspondence through the pipeline in a highly efficient and effective manner. This position will support the successful execution of goals and initiatives to meet the organizations strategic goals.

This is a remote first role but must be able to attend onsite meetings out of Milwaukee, Chicago or Charlotte markets as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides business oversight and financial management support to the value-based programs, including but not limited to Continuing Health Programs.

  • Creates and populate monthly or weekly dashboards for all key measures in all areas of responsibility, identify variances and assure all variances are addressed and rectified

  • Identifies profits and losses for all areas of responsibility and collaborates with clinical managers to implement action plans for any opportunities.

  • Performs site and regional level cost savings opportunities and performs a cost benefit analysis for new technology and innovation to improve performance in key areas.

  • Conducts data analytics and audits to ensure adherence to clinical key performance indicators and outcomes on a monthly basis, presents to the leadership team and works through the established council or meeting format to improve performance.

  • Coaches, educates and supports the clinical managers on opportunities to capture new unique patients through programming and outcome metrics to communicate the clinical picture to key stakeholders.

  • Manages relations and all business related responsibilities with internal and external stakeholders/vendors.

  • Identifies new opportunities for program development and profitability for value-based programs.

  • Formulate project work plans including identification of project objectives and participants, process design, support needs, time frame and other project scope issues. Interacts independently with internal and external groups to finalize project work plans. Demonstrates competent use of planning tools and techniques and sets milestones appropriate for the size and scale of the assignment.


Education/Experience Required:

  • Level of Education: MBA or MHA Field of Study (if applicable): Post Acute or Hospital Operations Years of Experience: 1 to 3 years of leadership experience Describe Type Experience: Fellowship training MHA in a large complex health care system preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Strong analytic skills, including high proficiency in Excel.

  • Business development, financial and strategic planning skill.

  • Ability to work within a rapid and changing environment

  • Ability to understand the business of rehabilitation and work collaboratively with all key stakeholders

  • Effective use of the Epic EMR and ability to navigate multiple data bases.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
