As a Development System Engineer - DevOps, you will be focused on the elements that support software and system development best practices. You will be directly responsible for identifying, implementing, and continually improving the entire development toolset, with particular focus on build and deployment automation supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Software Development Lifecycle, Agile, and other DevOps concepts are central to your thinking, supported by your very wide understanding of technology and ability to learn and adapt new tools and technologies quickly.

Essential Functions

Work closely with software development and IT operations teams to understand their needs, making sure the development tools, system, and infrastructure are aligned to support business goals.

Identify, design, implement, document, and promote tool and method best practices for efficient software development, testing, and deployment.

Implement and manage development systems tools for source control, versioning, build orchestration, and test automation.

Automate the deployment process to ensure that code can be quickly and reliably deployed to various environments, including virtualized and container-based environments.

Ensure proper documentation and knowledge sharing among team members to maintain best practices and promote innovation.

Monitor and troubleshoot the development toolset, identifying issues and opportunities to improve system performance, stability, and security.

Specific Required Skills

Strong DevOps tools and methods experience, strong understanding of Agile best practices including software development life cycle, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. Dedication to building strong, robust development systems.

Strong experience with configuration management, managing packages, patches, and software configuration across multiple platforms.

Strong experience with build and deployment automation, source control, versioning, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.

Excellent communication skills: ability to tailor messaging and documentation based on the audience.

Required Education or Experience

5-10 years of relevant experience.

Background and/or degree in Computer science or IT administration.

Current Security+ certification strongly desired. Linux+, Network+, and other related certifications are desired.

Eligibility Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
