Description

The Director of Business Continuity is responsible for directing business continuity and crisis management programs, including: planning, documenting, testing and constantly maturing the business continuity program. The Director leads the business continuity program, within the overall Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function, and establishes vision and direction of the organizations risk-based strategy and roadmap to mature the business continuity and resiliency posture.

Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:
Job Duties:
  • Lead a team of high-performing and engaged employees in a hybrid work environment with some employees in remote locations, through effective people leadership practices including regular communication of performance expectations and feedback to employees to maintain high team performance; provide coaching and corrective action as required; actively support employee professional growth and development
  • Meaningful knowledge across the business continuity and enterprise risk management framework, including risk identification, risk mitigation and strategy
  • Meet established department metrics; update leader on all major projects, employee issues and goal progress
  • Collaborate with business units to establish policies and standards develop strategy recommendations and drive best practices to protect members, employees and other assets by to ensuring optimal business continuity, and emergency preparedness
  • Develop processes and technology to support business units and enterprise planning, risk response to business continuity or other operational risks
  • Lead the development of and coordination with other regional and local crisis teams to ensure proper representation, communication strategies, and comprehension of program components.
  • Design and implement readiness testing scenarios, protocols and training modules
  • Document and test procedures and support business units in post-event recovery efforts, and improvement plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of laws and regulations affecting our business and assist in ensuring that the business continuity and operational risk programs effectively addresses all applicable legal and regulatory risks
  • Assist leadership of ERM with operational risk assessments, control effectiveness discussions, and other elements imbedded within the corporate ERM Program.
  • Ability to implement effective challenge across all programs and processes.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Risk and Business Continuity Management; financial industry experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience leading both a Business Continuity Program and team of BCP specialists
  • Experience leading the Incident Management Team (IMT), defining roles, developing the team's communication channels, and defining available tools
  • Experience leading key business functions to create, document, implement, test and maintain effective risk and Business Continuity plans
  • Ability to think at a strategic level and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal/external partners and key stakeholders
  • Ability to identify areas in need of improvement and lead initiative for development and change
  • Ability to deliver effective stakeholder presentations to both peer and executive level audiences
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and related applications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or other related fields of study or equivalent experience
  • Certification/License: Certified risk management professional and/or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
Location:Hillsboro, OR 97124(HYBRID)
Target Compensation: $140,000 to $155,000 + annual bonus
