Responsibilities

The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate preparation, disbursement, and processing of payroll in a multi-state environment. This position requires interaction with departments within the organization. This position requires strong organizational, communication, accounting skills, and a keen attention to detail.

Essential Duties:

    Deliver accurate and timely payroll services for the company for multiple sates to include non-exempt and exempt employees.
  • Analyze payroll data supplied by managers for accuracy and completeness, input, and balance payroll data accurately, processes payroll and reviews/analyzes payroll reports for accuracy and distributes timely.
  • Review process workflows of all new hires, changes, and terminations for accuracy for multi-state
  • Compile and input payroll data such as hours worked, time away, taxes, insurance, garnishment, and other withholdings.
  • Verify employee personal data and work-related changes such as promotions, terminations, and bonuses to ensure they are accurately reflected.
  • Assist in training managers on payroll systems and responsibilities for their
  • Research, analyze, and resolve all discrepancies, reporting to management as
  • Participate in end of the month closing audits as
  • Remain in compliance with all legal and institutional
  • Remain current in expert knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations with responsibility for ensuring that all information processed is accurate and compliant.
  • Identify payroll service solutions to streamline or enhance the payroll service delivery to employees. Make recommendations for improvements to processes and policies while maintaining compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to payroll processing and administration.
  • Provide customer-focused interaction ensuring timely response and effective follow-up on requests or issues.
Qualifications

Basic Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in payroll administration is required.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining moderately complex spreadsheets.
  • Experience with UltiPro preferred.
