How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is adiverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact.The primary purpose of this position is to manage all aftermarket sales activity in an established region. This will include rep aftermarket management, quote support and completion, and direct sales as required by channel. The role will primarily manage Process Cooling sales channels, with limited support of HVAC adjacent channels. The primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Parts sales growth for SPX Marley Cooling Products for all applications of Package and Field Erected product families. Achieve booking/revenue/margin numbers for parts sales for each quarter and the year.
  • Manage SPX direct sales and manufacturer reps parts pipeline and account needs through quote generation, technical support on parts, and frequent communication of aftermarket product information
  • Where direct customer engagement is required, provide parts support and quote assist to facilitate sales.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Responsible for parts sales activity in an assigned region containing 1-3 rep groups.
  • Maintain quote generation and support to customers to ensure timely response to needs.
  • Develop and provide expert product knowledge for prompt responses to emergency requests
  • Develop and present parts replacement proposals to reps and customer accounts.
  • Work closely with the regional sales manager for parts sales growth support
  • Serve as a product expert being able to solve routine product/systems issues
  • Contact and meet with customers and service contractors to discuss proposals and close opportunities
  • Solicit and analyze customer feedback for product performance, value, and competitive pricing

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience & Skills

  • 3- 5 years of experience in product and parts sales
  • Knowledge of HVAC, cooling towers and/or chillers strongly desired
  • Aftermarket or distributor sales (representative management) experience is helpful

Ideal Experience & Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Education & Certifications

  • Trade School or Bachelor's degree preferred, notably in Engineering or another technical field

Travel & Working Environment

  • Some periodic local travel required, including to operating plant and construction environments
  • Driver's license and proof of insurance
  • Keyboarding/typing
  • Ability to effectively read from a computer screen and/or a paper copy
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to effectively verbally communicate
  • Ability to lift weights of up to 20 lbs
