Hampton Behavioral Health Center is a private behavioral healthcare center and offers the most advanced behavioral health, diagnostic treatment services for adults, adolescents and older adults in both inpatient and outpatient programs. This is a full-time position for an in-person Claims and AR Specialist at Hampton Behavioral Health Center. You will be responsible for revenue cycle tasks related to insurance billing. You must be well-versed in billing software, medical insurance regulations, and proficient at responding to insurance inquiries. You will also be responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality, handling personal information, and accurately inputting patient data into a billing software system.

  • Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening.
  • Great customer service skills, including interpersonal communication, patience, and empathy.
  • Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Good organization, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain the privacy and security of patient information.
  • Understanding of industry-specific policies, such as HIPAA regulations for healthcare.

COVID Vaccination Requirement

Hampton Behavioral Health requires all newly hired team members to provide either (a) documentation of Covid-19 vaccination, or (b) documentation of receipt of Covid-19 vaccination dose #1 prior to hire date, and to complete the series within the prescribed schedule for the particular vaccination. If pursuant to option (b), a candidate is not fully vaccinated prior to their first day of work, documentation must be presented upon completion of the series as a condition of employment. A pre-employment candidate may request an exemption due to the candidate's bona fide religious belief or disability, and any offer of employment will be conditioned upon approval of the request.

Qualifications

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • knowledge of medical billing and accounts receivable and a minimum 5 years of experience in a medical hospital setting.
  • Certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications,
  • Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
