LMI seeks a senior data analyst to support a federal program management office in the National Capital Region. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our client keep U.S. borders safe and facilitate travel and trade. As part of our high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to provide "eyes and ears" technology to protect our nation.

Responsibilities

You will provide data analytics for integrated project reporting and analysis to support our client's programs charged with planning, acquiring, and managing the operation of technology and capabilities to keep our borders safe and facilitate travel and trade. Representative responsibilities:

    Collaborate with the integrated project team to compile, collate, integrate, and transform large sets of data into simplified, meaningful, and actionable trends and visualizations.
  • Use data analytics to develop, populate, and analyze dashboards for transparent, real-time project, program, and portfolio measurement results and metrics.
  • Route analyses, dashboards and performance measures to executives and managers to inform strategies and decisions.
  • Access and manipulate data from multiple systems and platforms
  • Identify interrelations and connect data and information across modern techniques.
  • Support the maturation of data quality.
  • Support the transformation of business process through automation.
  • Analyze program and project cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality data for trends and issues common across the program management office to identify areas needing management attention or new strategies and opportunities to improve.
  • Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable achievement of reporting goals.
  • Draw upon a full range of Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI features to design, develop, enhance, and support Tableau visualizations including, but not limited to, highly interactive dashboards, scorecards, and reports; schedule/automate data refresh using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
  • Maximize impact and utility of visualization products and enable automation where possible.
  • Identify and resolve dashboard-related issues.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
  • Bachelors degree required. Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, operations research, industrial engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of related experience required.
  • High level of proficiency using/creating Tableau, Qlik, and/or Microsoft Power BI dashboards, workbooks, and databases; using data to drive business decisions; and building effective and engaging visualizations.
  • Self-starter with the vision to independently identify opportunities for improvement through data analytics.
  • Experience visualizing data through the creation of dashboards and balanced scorecards summarizing organization performance using data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Power BI) in collaboration with others as well as independently.
  • Expertise in building and cleaning databases from multiple data sources, combining cost and performance information.
  • Experience with developing queries for routine data requests and reports.
  • Statistical analysis experience.
  • Experience creating formulas within PowerBI/Tableau/Qlik.
  • Experience with Power Query when creating dashboards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, ServiceNow, and SharePoint.
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with building, implementing, and supporting complex Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI visualizations
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and structure research that simplify these concepts.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Desired:

  • Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or Qlik certification a plus.
  • Experience utilizing Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) in PowerBI.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Previous work with CBP is a plus.
  • A current and fully-adjudicated CBP Background Investigation (BI) is a plus.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience preferred.
