We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team in McLean, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be experienced in interacting with stakeholders to gather requirements, assisting with Tier II/III help desk calls, and working as a Scrum Master or Product owner. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed; meet the education and work experience required; and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties, in addition to the below, may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work directly with business users to gather requirements, develop product backlog items, and groom user stories and requirements
  • Investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions and interpret business needs and effectively translate them as functional requirements
  • Perform impact analysis and root cause analysis activities to troubleshoot application problems
  • Create service request tickets for all customer interactions where the end user contacts via phone, email, or service desk ticketing system
  • Recognize and escalate application issues in a timely manner
  • Work as a Scrum Master for the team and recommend/implement Agile practices
  • Provide weekly service desk metrics/reports to Senior Management and client

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Employer-based sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Must be able to obtain and sustain a Public Trust clearance after employment
  • Four-year college degree or at least 5 years of related experience working on IT projects as a Business analyst on a team using Agile Scrum or other Agile methodologies, where responsibilities also included managing Tier II/III help desk queues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Competent in all phases of business systems analysis techniques, concepts, and methods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Flexibility to work different 8-hour shifts and willing to work occasionally and/or be on call overtime, holidays, and weekends

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior work experience as a Federal government contractor
  • Experience with Azure Devops and SharePoint
  • Experience with Balsamiq Mockups
  • Experience in Footprints or other service desk management tools
  • Certification: ITIL foundation, Microsoft IT Support or Help Desk Professional

Other:

  • Work location: Mclean, VA/ Hybrid Remote.
  • Limited travel to D.C. area is expected.
