Job Description
Position open for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter to join the engineering team of a manufacturing company. This is a direct hire position. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in transforming conceptual engineering designs into detailed, accurate, and comprehensive technical drawings. As the Mechanical Drafter, you will collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to produce high-quality drawings that serve as a blueprint for the manufacturing and construction processes. Knowledge of Solidworks is key, and knowledge of MasterCam is helpful.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Drafter:
  • Create detailed and precise technical drawings based on engineering designs, specifications, and calculations.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software Solidworks to produce 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Work closely with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and enhance drawings.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including drawings, bills of materials, and specifications.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and precision in all drawings.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to team members and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design-related challenges.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in CAD software.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements
Qualifications of the Mechanical Drafter:
  • Proven experience as a Draftsman or Detailer in an engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Associate degree or equivalent in EngineeringDrafting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Draftsman/Detailer in an engineering setting.
