Job Description

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's network clients, including both financial services and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, Visa Consulting and Analytics solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

The VCA team is looking for a Director to join our strategy consulting practice and play a leadership role in developing and delivering high impact engagements for Visa's clients in the North America region. The potential candidate will be responsible for delivering and implementing projects and solutions with US financial institutions (banks and credit unions). This person will develop initiatives to promote sustainable and profitable growth, thereby ensuring that Visa is both, the preferred brand and unique business partner.

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical individual with previous strategy, consulting and /or payments experience.

We are looking for individuals with banking, payments and consulting expertise to provide analysis and strategic thinking to shape the services we deliver to clients. The ideal candidate will have payments and consulting experience.

Typical projects may include:

  • How does a Financial Institution expand market share in consumer market?
  • How should a credit card issuer use emerging technology to acquire the best customers?
  • How does a Financial Institution grow their credit card portfolio while mitigating credit risk?
  • How does a Bank or Credit Union optimize their revenues?
  • How can a Financial Institution drive increased spend in specific segments?

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- Experience working in the payments industry or with a financial institution (bank, credit union, Fintech).
- Experience with developing and/or managing debit card product, including P&L implications, product feature design and customer journey management.
- Previous experience in a management consulting firm.
- Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills.

- Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor and ability to work with large data sets to synthesize key impacts for clients
- Self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects concurrently
- Executive presence including excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal and ability to communicate at all levels within large organizations
- Demonstrated collaboration capabilities, particularly with those who are not direct reports as may be found in a matrixed organization
- Experience in managing teams in execution of projects
- Drive the strategy, pipeline, and agenda for the banks and credit unions in market. - Identify strategic opportunities through a strong understanding of the segment and customer's business needs, demonstrating value to our Financial Institutions and their clients / members
- Holds self and others accountable for measurable high quality, timely and effective results. Displays a strong commitment to organizational success
- Ability to identify key strategic issues and to generate and deliver creative and innovative solutions to problems and opportunities
- Experience in several key issuer business areas, such as portfolio management, marketing, product management, operations, risk management, for both credit and debit cards
- Understanding of card issuers' P&L and critical factors in driving profitability
- Ability to influence and negotiate with senior executives
- Prior experience working with Regional and Community banks, credit unions and other financial institutions a plus

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 139,200 to 213,800 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
