ReNuke Services is seeking a Planner with Substation or Transmission experience for our client"s site in Plainfield, Indiana!
Long term contract, 12 months with yearly extensions

This position will be responsible for planning and sequencing complex construction and maintenance activities, including equipment outage sequence, temporary facilities installations. Incumbents are expected to have complex technical skills and interpersonal skills to ensure safe and productive project execution. Incumbents will also be responsible for coordinating with Transmission, Distribution, and Generation leadership, and resolving technical matters. This position supports project management and project teams with responsibility for developing and defining the project construction plan for area of expertise.

Must demonstrate basic computer skills. Responsible to practice and set an example of safe project planning and scheduling. Must possess good communication skills, including working with others to create good working conditions. Support of corporate, group, department and unit goals with conduct instrumental in projecting a proper image for Duke Energy and its employees. Self-motivated with good leadership qualities that include good planning and scheduling decision making skills.

Capabilities:

*Can plan and sequence any construction or maintenance activities, within any station, no matter the sensitivity and complexity
*Has working knowledge and experience at installing, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting line/substation facilities
*Can lead teams to ensure paperwork and files are accurate and submitted in timely fashion with no issues
*Can lead other planners in organization, develop and execute a procedure, and develop work plans to complete a task with error free performance
*Has working knowledge of line and substation engineering and equipment database systems of record, to be able to identify and understand equipment information required for work planning
*Can identify Clearance boundary requirements for performance of work, including recognizing and mitigating risks associated with close margins and contingency scenarios, and including becoming Switching and Tagging qualified with Duke Energy to submit Clearance Requests/Outage Requests/Hot Line Tag
*Complete understanding of NERC compliance and importance for accurate data and timely completion

This position reports to the Supervisor of Outage Coordination and supports the Project Management Development Team in developing Outage Sequences for construction project work. The Planner is responsible for assisting the Development PM with developing work plans for the execution of capital work. The Planner also works closely with the Work Management Planner and resources within Transmission Project Management for the execution of capital work. This requires first-hand knowledge of Construction activities or the ability to draw on resources within Construction to gain that knowledge. The position must possess good organization and collaboration skills for working in team environments to produce excellent outage plans and scoping estimates. This position supports the development of construction work plans to support annual programs ranging from $150M - $300M annually (capital and O&M, approximate). In addition, this position continually supports changes in these plans to align with changing funding requirements, and to align plans to execute the highest priority work.
Responsibilities
The Planner will develop work packages to include:
* Scope of work required
* Accurate estimate of hours required to perform job
* Plan for any mobile equipment needs
* Project job durations for outage purposes
* Provide any sketches, digital pictures or drawings needed
* Provide any Safety or Environmental information
* Understand lead time risks for materials
* Produce construction estimates for durations and man hours required for construction projects Planners participate in Development planning meetings to provide input for outage requirements. Assist Development Project Manager in developing a work package for execution of capital project work. Clarifies project scope, develops construction outage plan, identifies potential obstacles to completing the project and identifies clearance requirements. Additionally, the Planner coordinates transmission clearances with Grid Management, ECC and DCC when there are load issues with project coordination the Planner assist in resolving and re-sequencing the work considering any customer sensitivities. Assist with emergency planning, clearance requests and hot line tag requests. Travel to work location(s) to develop project outage requirements, attend scoping meetings and perform walk down of job sites.
Education Requirement: Associate degree, Desired Qualifications would be bachelor"s degree, or experience in lieu of a degree.
Job Description:
Experience: Must have greater than 10 years of experience performing transmission line or substation maintenance and/or construction work. A planner will plan and schedule all activities associated with line/substation construction and maintenance. Incumbents are expected to have complex skills and the ability to work independently and lead construction and maintenance activities scheduling calls of any complexity.

Minimum Requirements: The planner is expected to have proficient working knowledge in the installation, maintenance, and operation of the following:
Line Planner - Transmission line structures and wire, transmission line switches, and associated equipment and facilities
Substation Planner - Substation equipment such as transformers, regulators circuit breakers, switches, instrument transformers. As well as above grade and below grade facilities, structures, and associated equipment and facilities.
