Position Description:

Visiting Assistant Professor



The Nonfiction Writing Program and Department of English at the University of Iowa are seeking a writer who works both in the form of the essay and related hybrid approaches to literature to hold a 1-year, 50% time visiting appointment during the 2024-2025 academic year as a Visiting Assistant Professor.



Salary will be commensurate and position will be with full benefits.

Education Requirement:

  • Masters degree in hand by start date

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one book in nonfiction published with a national recognized press

  • Teaching experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience editing and running a literary press.

  • Experience in arts programming and management.
