Job Summary:

As a collaborative member of the team, this role works within their designated clinic to care for patients in an enhanced MA role. This position is responsible for engaging the patient in reinforcing the clinical plan of care and chronic disease management within the scope of Medical Assistant training and in collaboration with the care team. Promotes communication, both internally and externally, to enhance the effectiveness of medical management services and is highly committed to team construct. The role will coordinate preventative and chronic disease care and assist with the coordination of patient schedules and Lawson ordering or testing. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of two years of clinical experience is required. Experience working with Electronic Medical records is required. Experience in Internal Medicine or Family Practice Clinic is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High school diploma or equivalent required. In addition, individuals must meet one (1) of the following combinations of education and experience:

A.) A graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate).

B.) A graduate of a non CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, diploma, or Certificate) or Military Medic/Corpsman training. In addition to education, one (1) year of formal on the job Medical Assistant experience preferred.

C.) Currently possess and are in good standing with at least one of the following credentials:

a.) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

b.) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

c.) Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABROE)

d.) CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program or the completion of an accredited LPN program.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Essential to the success of this role is the ability to embody an attitude of service, a desire to learn and master new skills, exhibit a positive attitude. Experience working Microsoft office is required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

If a LPN, a current LPN licensure by the state of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required upon hire.
