Job Summary

This biochemist role will be an integral member of our GMP team that develops and manufactures BioLegend's regulated magnetic beads and antibody reagents produced in our US FDA registered cGMP manufacturing facility. This position will report to a GMP MOJO Scientist.

The desired candidate must be a team-player who is organized and is able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines. Great attention to detail is also a skill that will allow the candidate to be successful.

Essential Functions

  • Completing GMP production orders following established SOPs and batch records.
  • Primary responsibility is to perform magnetic beads synthesis, beads surface coating, protein or antibody conjugation to magnetic beads and reagents formulation. Maintain batch records and other documentations that are essential to be in compliance with ISO13485:2016 and cGMP.
  • Perform incoming inspection of raw materials.
  • Perform protein/iron quantification assays, spectroscopy, bead size or concentration measurements.
  • Conduct Endotoxin tests and operate in Biosafety cabinet.
  • Other tasks include buffer preparation, dialysis, centrifugation, column chromatography and maintain laboratory equipment and manage supplies.
  • Work closely with senior GMP MOJO Research associate and Scientist on new products to ensure a smooth transition into manufacturing.
  • Meet important deadlines and due dates.
  • Advance multiple projects simultaneously and work in a team environment.
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience

  • BS degree in chemistry/biochemistry, material science or life science.
  • 0-1 year Lab experience in area of organic or inorganic synthesis, bioconjugation or beads.
  • Familiarity with basic lab equipment UV Vis and chromatography, and knowledge of lab safety protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, organized and work well in groups setting

Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience

  • GMP lab experience
  • Experience with conjugation or magnetic beads

The base salary range for this full-time position is $55,000 - 60,000.This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.

Lab

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.
