The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Clinical Coordinator III - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work in the Center for Liver Disease & Transplantation within the Division of Abdominal Organ Transplantation in the Department of Surgery with the Clinical Director of Pediatric Liver Program and Adult and Pediatric Intestinal Transplant Program. The position will work under the direction of the Medical and Surgical Directors Liver and Intestine Transplant Programs, in collaboration with attending surgical and medical staff, data managers, out-patient nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers and financial coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate overall medical and surgical management of patients being evaluated and treated by the pediatric liver, pediatric intestine and adult intestine programs.
  • Conduct new evaluations and consultations.
  • Conduct follow-up visits with patients and families and sign and bill notes in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in seeing patient at outreach sites.
  • Provide education about liver and intestinal disease and transplantation for patients and medical center staff.
  • Management of immunosuppressant and regulation of medications in response to laboratory results.
  • Telephone medical advice, interaction with both patients and primary physicians.
  • Participation in patient care and education meetings, quality projects and regulatory audits as needed.
  • Assist in prior authorizations for medications and radiology testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education:
Nurse Practitioners: Master of Science in Nursing
Physician Assistants: Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited or New York State Education Department approved PA education program

Minimum related experience:
NP - 3 years nursing or related experience.
PA - 5 years of related experience

Minimum licensing/certifications required upon start date:
NYS RN and NP Licenses and ANCC Board Certification.
NYS PA License and NCCPA Board Certification.
BLS, ACLS, PALS (if applicable) Certification
DEA Certification

Minimum computer skills:
Intermediate to advanced level MS Office skills, experience with EMR.
