Job Description

Position Summary

The Neuropsychology Service at Stony Brook Medicine is a very busy practice. We see patients, ranging in age from 3 to 90+ years, with concerns ranging from learning disabilities to epilepsy to mild cognitive impairment and dementia.

At Stony Brook Medicine the psychometrist will be involved in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of neuropsychological tests. They will be provided with training in all of these areas, and will also be provided with training in the writing of neuropsychological evaluation reports. As available, they will also be exposed to clinical research.

Duties

  • The psychometrist will be involved in neuropsychological test administration and scoring.
  • The psychometrist will take part in test interpretation.
  • The psychometrist will draft partial or complete reports as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Level of education.
  • Preliminary experience with, and/or exposure to, psychological or neuropsychological tests
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Able to provide structure but also able to build/maintain rapport with patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Spanish.

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as - 24.00 - 25.00/hour.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
