The Industrial Maintenance Technician role encompasses many responsibilities, including maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment in supporting the plant maintenance strategy. The primary emphasis is on ensuring safety and implementing preventive maintenance measures for production equipment to align with the site's business goals and objectives. This position often requires independent work or collaboration with production operators. It's important to note that this role explicitly supports the Catalyst Business Unit at our PPCAT Plant in Louisville, KY. There is a $2,000 Sign On Bonus after 4 months of employment!


Responsibilities

  • Effectively complete preventive and proactive maintenance work according to the schedule to avoid breakdowns on equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are executed, optimizing time, quality, and cost.
  • Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages, collaborating with other departments. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain company assets.
  • Act as the "first responder" when a line stops producing, quickly correcting problems using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Inspect maintenance items to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Utilize CMMS for opening and closing out work orders, checking out spare parts, and performing other plant activities. Support maintaining all technical plant documentation. Support proper utilization of Management of Change.
  • Participate in daily performance dialogue meetings and required team meetings.
  • Ensure maintenance teamwork is performed according to the defined safety program.
  • Help analyze equipment error messages or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Support training operational personnel in technical matters.
  • Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (some college is a plus)
  • 6+ years ofexperience in industrial manufacturing maintenance is a must!
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel, SAP).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely work with up to 480 volts, run conduit, install equipment, size load requirements as per NFPA 70E requirements.
  • Possess mechanical knowledge of Pneumatic operated equipment, Precision shaft alignment
  • Basic understanding of rotating equipment and power transmission, Welding / fabrication and Pipefitting skills
  • Comfortable rigging heavy loads
