Responsibilities

Psych Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor Opportunity (full-time) - Atlanta, GA

11pm- 7am

Treatment programs at Laurel Heights Hospital are structured for youth ages 6-17 who are dealing with general psychiatric difficulties and trauma. We also offer specialty mental health programs for children with co-occurring neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders

Job description:

  • Provides feedback to DCS with regarding to performance evaluations at the completion of probationary terms and annually for staff assigned to ASD Units.
  • Performs tasks in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Responsible for the philosophy and development of Nursing and ASD staff Services and other goals and objectives that complete and compliment those of Laurel Heights Hospital.
  • Monitors all aspects of the Nursing/ASD program with regards to patient care and quality assurance, and utilization review.
  • Supervises Nursing and clinical staff ensuring completion of 15 minute patient log, glucose monitor calibrating log, Emergency Cart log, and follow-up on patient room check log.
  • Directs, monitors and evaluates staff to ensure appropriate treatment and therapy is provided.
  • Trains Nursing and ASD staff on providing documentation that identifies, and adequately records the current patient condition and changes in condition.
  • Conducts training and / or briefings for professional and semi-professional groups with the ability to refer patients to Laurel Heights Hospital.
  • Advises CEO, and appropriate staff, of any developments in the community, among competitors, and / or referents that may impact Laurel Heights Hospital.
  • Assesses cultural beliefs about illnesses and health care for each significant ethnic group represented in the patient population.
  • Assesses and interprets patient data for age and sex related clinical needs, determines priorities for patient care, and incorporates these priorities and needs within the treatment plan and interventions.
  • Formulates plan of care that includes developmental, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patient and delivers, monitors, and modifies plan according to patient progress.
  • Ensures all Nursing and ASD staff personnel comply with Laurel Heights Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing

Qualifications

A valid State of Georgia Nursing (RN) (Registered Nurse) License or eNLC License from a participating state is required.

At least two years of nursing experience is required as is previous psychiatric, behavioral or mental health nursing experience.

Prior nursing leadership experience is also needed
