Huntsman is seeking a EGU Specialist supporting the Performance Products Division located in Conroe, TX. This position will report to the Operations Manager.

Job Scope

Position has the principal responsibility for guiding the day to day operation of a new state of the art advanced technology purification unit. Ensures production takes place safely in accordance with established site procedures and within limits of operation. Enables & implements ideas to improve unit efficiency.

As the EGU Specialist you will:

  • Develop and provide operator training on new procedures.
  • Manage training of the ECP process for the production area.
  • Review permits, audits lockboxes and maintains JSA's for the unit.
  • Monitor unit status to plan, report production and KPI's for the area.
  • Take lead role in troubleshooting/process improving, quality or equipment abnormalities & uses the MOC process to manage change.
  • Work with operations and laboratory to establish operating conditions and sample schedules as necessary to conduct test runs, new product startups and other process improvement activities.
  • Participate in PHA/LOPA and pFMEA studies of area.
  • Be responsible for material balancing of assigned processes to include raw material, product and waste streams.
  • Participate in daily production posting and month-end closing activities.
  • Gatekeeper for Work Notification approval process for the unit & coordinates impacts with other areas of the plant.
  • Communicate operations priorities to maintenance based on production schedule/needs.
  • Coordinate with maintenance need dates and production priorities.
  • Communicates upcoming maintenance activities to the appropriate shifts.
  • Assists with safing of equipment and ECP's for maintenance activities as time allows. Permit co-signer for permits involving vessel entry or excavation within the unit.
  • Review and approve payment of invoices from assigned vendors, ensure inventory of MRO materials are always in stock & ensures unit is kept up to the required Ad. Tech standards.
  • Monitor efforts in the site to ensure compliance with all elements of Process Safety Management and the Huntsman Product Stewardship initiatives.
  • Monitor safe handling, identification, storage, and removal of hazardous waste streams resulting from production activities.

Other general responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
  • Participates in and completes company- required training programs.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health & safety initiatives as set for the company.

Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of experienceor
    Associate's Degree in
    Process Technology with 6+ years of experience

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient with internet, email and Microsoft programs.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Advance PC skills.
  • High attention to details for record keeping and quality purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Green Belt Certification.
