Job Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Laboratory Technician. The Senior Lab Technician is responsible for completing daily sampling and hourly monitoring of product in order to compile, analyze, and report quality data to Quality Management and Plant Management to aid in the optimization of a world leading quality product.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science)
  • 3 + years of expereince
  • Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Skills
  • Experience in quality control and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
  • Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills


Key Performance Areas


Instrumentation

  • Continuously calibrate Lab instrumentation.
  • Work with Lab Manager to evaluate new instrument methodologies for additional in-house testing.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of Lab Data daily


Sampling

  • Pulling samples from auto sampler and manually as directed by standard operating procedures for the lab, and as scheduled by the plant for daily needs.
  • Samples taken during various phases of fishmeal production analyzed, confirmed and recorded for conformance to specification.


Reporting

  • All data is submitted to Lab Manager for inclusion into the Daily Lab Report
  • When Lab Manager is not on shift, Senior Lab Technician will communicate and work with Plant Personnel directly when samples fall outside of specifications.
  • This position will also aid in the sampling and testing of Project work outside normal QA/QC scope as directed
