PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

This position is responsible for understanding business problems, determining the best data source to use and crafting actionable analytics/insights to recommend solutions. They are expected to work directly with business partners for requirements and be able to explain and present key findings to many different audiences including senior leadership. They are the authority on all operational metrics, dashboards, and are responsible for regulatory reporting.

This position creates data and insights to support process improvement and network planning on an international scale across CPKC networks. It is responsible for data acquisition, data analysis, and data presentation.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Craft and present business analysis and reports to facilitate data driven decision-making
  • Provide oversight on operational key performance indicators
  • Target opportunities and benefits provided by data insights
  • Acquire accurate data needed for modeling and analytical efforts
  • Champion process improvement by coordinating with process owners to observe, validate, and provide recommendations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, in a job related major field of study
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience, including leading and managing projects or programs with results focused outcomes, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with the use of data analysis & statistics to address business opportunities
  • Strong facilitation, active listening and interpersonal skills
  • Desired knowledge in Lean / Six Sigma
  • Railroad operations experience
  • Operations Softwares: Excel, MCS, Business Objects, Power BI, SAP, SSMS, Qlik
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
