Under general supervision, administers non-invasive cardiac procedures to adults, pediatric and newborn patients. Procedures include performing treadmill stress testing, Holter monitor hook-up and scanning, electrocardiograms (ECG), ambulatory blood pressure (ABP) monitor hook-up and scanning, event monitor ordering, hook-up and resulting, assists with cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) and stress echocardiography. Accurately processes daily ECG tracings in ECG management system and monitors for compliance.
Must have a working knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias. Is required to possess technical knowledge and clinical expertise to perform electrocardiograms, Holter monitor testing and data management. Ability to perform basic clerical procedures including scheduling, filing and answering phone calls. Must demonstrate and maintain knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients. Provides training for new hires, coworkers, cardiology fellows, physicians and other departments on processes and equipment as needed. Acts as the super user for ECG management system, Holter monitor and ABP monitor systems. Perform other duties as assigned. Works at an expert level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAssociate Degree or a combination of education and work experience.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Minimum three (3) years as an ECG tech performing stress testing and Holter monitor scanning.
Experience in performing ECG, treadmill procedure, ambulatory monitor hook-up and analysis.
Understanding of basic ECG principles, acquisition and interpretation.
Must be able to recognize complex arrhythmia and abnormalities on ECG. Must be able to operate equipment utilized for the procedures.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $69,489 - $86,464 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $33.28 - $41.41
