Job Description:

Develops coaching skills to support undergraduate students, via individual coaching, document review and drop-in hours. As a member of the CElCS team, has shared responsibility for the achievement of departmental goals and assessment initiatives. The role will serve from time of hire to May 30, 2025 at 15 hours per week for 18 weeks in Fall 2024 and 20 weeks in Spring 2025.

  • Supports daily career coaching activities in the CELCS office, including but not limited to: resume/CV reviews, career exploration, job search strategies, graduate school applications, drop-in hours, LinkedIn reviews, job application assistance, interview preparation, negotiation, document approval, headshots, Clifton Strengths coaching, life design, etc.
  • Supports the implementation of the First Destination Survey process to collect post-graduate outcomes for May graduates. Duties can include but are not limited to: survey launch, data collection, marketing efforts, email/phone/online knowledge gathering.
  • Supports ongoing CELCS programming, including, but not limited to: Career Fair, Humanities Day, Gap Year Panel, Internship Week, Resume Rush, Tiger Treks, academic and student organization-requested workshops, etc.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity.
  • Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION

Required:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred:

Master's student enrolled in the Texas State University Student Affairs in Higher Education Program.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

Previous experience working with college students.

Preferred:

Student Affairs experience in advising, coaching, training, leadership education, counseling or student programming.

Experience with college career or experiential learning centers.

An understanding of student development theory.

Proven commitment to and appreciation for issues of diversity and community.

Ability to articulate issues and trends in higher education.

Experience designing and conducting assessment activities. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated ability working in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage multiple tasks with poise and patience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:

Knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of office procedures and customer service.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to problem solve and think critically.
