About the Role

The Payroll Analyst is a part of the AMAROK's people-first Human Resources team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. This position will analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies and collaborate with Human Resources and Finance departments to resolve any payroll issues as needed. Our Payroll Analyst also maintains payroll records, assemble various reports, and ensures an efficient payroll process that complies with all federal and state regulations. As needed, this position will assist in payroll related projects to improve the overall payroll function.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including fixed and variable compensation types, understanding of HR & payroll wage and hour laws, tax laws, wage garnishments, payroll variances, W-4s and all other pertinent information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll-related laws and regulations.
  • Adaptable to a fast-changing work environment while able to work well under stress and tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overseeing payroll processing to guarantee the accurate and timely handling of salary, bonuses, benefits, taxes, and other transactions.
  • Managing updates to payroll records for new hires, terminations, and pay rate adjustments.
  • Maintaining precise payroll records and generating relevant reports.
  • Reconciling payroll with the general ledger and posting journal entries.
  • Addressing off-cycle payrolls and rectifying errors or adjustments.
  • Collaborating with accounting for issuing physical checks in case of payroll discrepancies or final discharge.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and industry best practices.
  • Managing state withholding and unemployment accounts acquisition.
  • Facilitating audits by providing necessary records and documentation.
  • Documenting payroll procedures and processes for reference.
  • Fulfilling Verification of Employment requests.
  • Handling Fixed and Variable Rate (FAVR) automobile payments through the Motus platform.
  • Providing assistance across all HR departmental functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
