Overview

This role is a working manager role responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of the company's multiple divisions. This includes overseeing the production of financial reporting, profitability analysis, cash cycle, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to safeguard assets, mitigate risk and ensure the accuracy of the company's reported financial results. The candidate should have strong analytical thought processes, exceptional relationship skills, forward thinking, and willing to make an impact by using technologies to reinforce internal efficiencies and provide value added services for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all activities of cost accounting function. Responsible for all cost accounting areas including standard cost roll, multi-level bills of materials, direct and indirect labor, overhead rates and absorption, product cost development, production volume reporting and work order variances.
  • Helps support Operations through partnering and preparation of timely detailed analytical reports regarding costs, spend and variances.
  • Investigates, analyzes, and reports on manufacturing variances, material, and freight purchase price variances.
  • Product cost analysis on multiple business units for labor and purchase content opportunities.
  • Review and maintenance of master data including material master, BOM, and Routings.
  • Support of period end close process including JE's and management reporting.
  • Responsible for month end product cost, inventory valuation, and other reporting.
  • Involvement in manufacturing spending analysis and monitoring of plant metrics.
  • Analyzes aged, obsolete, and excess inventory to establish reserves in accordance with corporate policy
  • Participates in monitoring and confirming financial condition by participating in audits; providing information to external auditors.
  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures and controls.
  • Maintain the relationship and manage external auditors for pragmatic solutions.
  • Participate in key strategic initiatives and assist with other ad hoc projects.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • MBA, CPA and/or public accounting firm experience and exposure to global industrial companies.
  • 5+ years progressively responsible experience in manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience working for a subsidiary of an international group and / or experience with Financial Reporting's.
  • SAP experience beneficial.
  • Must have relevant manufacturing experience.
