Position Description

This position supervises, monitors, and/or executes the day-to-day maintenance procedures as they relate to the company's equipment, facility, and premises by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance

  • Develop all Preventive Maintenance Programs (PMP) for all process, production, laboratory, and facility equipment
  • Implement all PMP procedures and ensure all PMP Programs are followed and documented
  • Prepare annual operating budget and supporting documents
  • Manage acquisition and maintenance of maintenance equipment
  • Identify, order, and maintain all maintenance supplies and spare parts inventory for all equipment
  • Keep all equipment in operating condition through PMP and ongoing repairs as required

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises 1 employee in the Plant Engineering Department and any sub-contracted services.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policy and applicable laws. Responsibilities include appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing setting
  • 2+ years of experience directly supervising and managing employees
  • Associate's degree in an engineering field is a nice to have
  • Experience with E-coating, powder coating, or paint lines is a nice to have
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot all types of mechanical systems and equipment and their operation. This includes pneumatic components and controls, hydraulic components and controls, and mechanical power transmission systems and controls.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot basic electrical control systems and components.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic controls and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's).
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
  • There are physical demands associated with this position. You must be able lift, climb, bend, reach, talk, and hear in order to perform this job.
