POSITION

Allspring is seeking a portfolio analyst to join its quantitative Systematic Edge Equity Team. The team is responsible for portfolio management and research of systematic long/short, market neutral and long-only equity strategies. The analyst will collaborate with experienced portfolio managers and researchers while working at the intersection of finance and cutting-edge data science.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with portfolio managers and trading to successfully implement strategies in client portfolios.
  • Design and develop analysis and monitoring tools to achieve best practices in all aspects of the investment process.
  • Engage in research and quantitative analysis to improve current strategies across all phases of portfolio management including signal research, optimization and portfolio construction.
  • Formualte data-driven insights and translate them into meaningful investment outcomes.
  • Provide support to portfolio managers and product specialists for client facing engagements.

CANDIDATE

The candidate we seek is a self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and adapt in a highly intellectual, rapidly changing environment. The ideal candidate is voraciously curious and approaches problems with a keen analytical mindset.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science or engineering and/or 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrable interest in financial markets and knowledge of equity markets.
  • Familiarity with basic quantitative finance concepts such as beta and factor premia.
  • Effective collaborator who is comfortable working in teams.
  • Great listener and communicator who internalizes feedback and seeks continual personal and professional development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in at least one common coding language for data science such as R, Python, or SQL.
  • Demonstrable experience working with large data sets, either academic or professional.
  • Previous exposure, academic or professional, to quantitative/mathematical/systematic finance.
  • Experience with visualization software.
  • CFA charter holder, candidacy, or interest in pursuing a CFA.

Base Pay Range: $100,000-130,000

Salary Range for California candidates only.Actual based may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
