General Scope of Job

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and owning the coordination Quality initiatives within the Sharp business unit while developing, implementing, maintaining a quality system consistent with established standards (e.g. ISO 9001), customer expectations, and the Pregis Production System. The quality manager will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing our quality management strategy across multiple manufacturing sites and provide leadership to achieve business objectives using process improvement tools and strategies that improve overall quality and customer success. This position may train other department leaders in quality assurance concepts and strategies. Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhanced product quality, and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) across all sites to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with ISO standards and in alignment with the Pregis Production System
  • Oversees and manages the work of the quality staff. Develops and initiates internal standards and processes for inspection, testing and evaluation
  • Directs employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure process and product compliance are maintained and process improvements are sustained
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality
  • Set targets for improvement and reporting progress updates to management
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities.
  • Foster and aid in the quality policy deployment process
  • Partner with sales team and customers to understand their quality requirements and ensure that products meet these expectations.
  • Ownership of process to address any quality-related customer complaints
  • Drive collaborative to solve root cause issues and create corrective action for sustainable process change
  • Ensure all products meet internal and external standard
  • Develop, implement, and maintain system for layered process audits to drive engagement and identify gaps
  • Point out process inefficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards
  • lead strategic quality improvement projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Work closely with other Pregis quality leaders to share best practices and adopt quality standards.
  • Own the coordination of cross department resolution to critical customer concerns and non-conformance challenges.
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs to all levels of the organization to foster a high-quality awareness and skill set.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned subject to reasonable accommodations.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or similar related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a proven leadership position.
  • Track record in managing QMS and achieving quality standards such as ISO 9001.

Travel Requirements

Anticipated travel is less than 10% of the time. Extra travel maybe required to visit suppliers and evaluate their QMS and products. This position may require customer visits to discuss customer expectations, and issues.
