Primary Function

The Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing customer-focused and highly effective marketing initiatives for the North American Water Treatment Professional channel, which markets our brands and products to Water Quality Dealers, contractors, wholesalers, and plumbing professionals. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented, creative, and analytical marketer.

The Marketing Director reports to the AO Smith North American Water Treatment Chief Marketing Officer and directly manages a team of five. The role will also collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams that include Sales, Customer Service, Product, Engineering, and Procurement.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans for the North American Water Treatment Professional channel lines of business and brands.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and other business leaders to identify opportunities to attract prospective customers and retain existing ones.
  • Work with Marketing and Sales leadership to effectively prioritize and shepherd new initiatives and projects from inception to competition.
  • Implement activities focused on generating new customer leads. Develop and oversee lead-generating campaigns across multiple channels, ensuring each activity has a clear ROI associated with it.
  • Design and execute product launches across various product lines and marketing channels.
  • Direct trade show event strategy and coordinate three to five trade events per year with the help of the larger team.
  • Create tiered playbook and assets to equip dealers and wholesalers to effectively merchandise our brands and products, and drive leads into their businesses.
  • Leveraging customer insights and competitive research, lead merchandising over multiple brands to highlight product features and benefits and to ensure consistency across all channels and customer touch points.
  • Design and manage contractor/dealer development and engagement programs including co-op programs, rewards programs and self-service lead generation programs.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years in marketing; B2B marketing experience required.
  • Distributed dealer and/or wholesaler network marketing a plus.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of management experience
  • Highly creative in devising marketing campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills. Able to manage and prioritize a wide variety of project types that vary in timing, scope, scale.
  • Analytic and able to interpret data, identify issues, formulate hypotheses, and turn insights into action.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with strong initiative and follow through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) required.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Related Field
