Job Description:
The Production Lead is a key member of our 35+ member production team! You'll work side-by-side with the team to ensure the production process is flowing smoothly to meet our goals and ensure food safety and product quality standards are met.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Core Competencies and Areas of Responsibility
Leadership
- Assist in meeting KPI goals for production team.
- Support Production Supervisor daily on proper staffing levels with regards to skills and headcount.
- Develop staff through training of HACCP, GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company standard operating procedures.
- Enforce plant and company safety programs, promoting and maintaining a high level of awareness and adherence to defined employee safety requirements such as lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, etc.
Process Improvement
- Assist Production Supervisor in assessing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Work with Production supervisor to develop and implement Improvement activities.
Troubleshooting
- Work with Production Supervisor to monitor the equipment performance in production process (i.e., freezer, packaging machinery, etc) to ensure that equipment is functioning efficiently and is properly cleaned and sanitized. Arrange for timely repair/resolution of equipment failures.
- Provide technical recommendations as needed.
Time Management
- Monitor production rates, flow, and work with Production Supervisor to integrate changes as needed.
- Assist in completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as time cards, quality records, etc.
- Support operators to ensure all production lines are appropriately staged for current and future runs
