Description

is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. Under the supervision of the Construction Accounting Manager, you will perform general bookkeeping while maintaining responsibility for the financial statements, general ledgers, and balance sheet reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will also support the construction draw process.

We are embracing a hybrid working environment and you can work both in the office and from home but will need to be available to work out of the office 3 days per week. #LI-Hybrid

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries, data entry and posting, on a monthly basis, to ensure integrity of the general ledger and financial statements
  • Prepare Concur reporting for corporate credit card charges and reconciliations
  • Maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
  • Analyze revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities to ensure accounting is applied to projects under construction
  • Support the month-end closing process to ensure seamless close out
  • Provide support for the preparation and presentation of financial reports for the corporation including quarterly consolidated financial statements
  • Provide support for the construction draw process for ongoing construction projects including the gathering of documentation to ensure that the process is performed promptly
  • Communicate with project managers, lenders, vendors and external parties to manage draw requests and requirements
  • Help provide documentation for the annual interim and year-end audit

Skills for Success:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience; preference towards public accounting experience or construction accounting experience
  • You will have knowledge of accounting principles
  • You will have knowledge of computers and familiarity with accounting software.
