As we continue to expand our R&D efforts, we are seeking a skilled Senior Technical Specialist, Chemistry - Formulation to join our team and contribute to the development of new and improved consumer products.

As the Senior Technical Specialist, Chemistry you will play a key role in our R&D team, supporting the formulation and testing of new products across various categories. You will have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic laboratory environment, collaborating with scientists and engineers to bring innovative ideas to life. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, hands-on experience with formulation techniques, and a passion for creating high-quality consumer products.

For Internal Associates this is a grade T24

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the formulation and development of new consumer products, including Pest Control products, under the guidance of senior scientists and engineers.

  • Prepare and test prototype formulations using laboratory equipment and techniques, following established procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Conduct stability testing and performance evaluations on formulated products to assess quality, efficacy, and shelf-life characteristics.

  • Record and analyze experimental data, documenting observations, results, and conclusions in electronic laboratory notebooks to assure corporate compliance.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and inventory, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning for efficient operation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory affairs, to support product development projects and meet project timelines.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, contribute innovative ideas, and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in formulation science.

  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and other relevant regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • 2-year degree in Chemistry, or other related field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant laboratory experience OR a high school diploma and a minimum of 6 years of laboratory experience

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or other related science

  • Experience in a laboratory setting, with hands-on experience in formulation development.

  • Experience in the consumer products industry.

  • Advanced understanding of basic chemistry principles and laboratory techniques, including weighing, mixing, emulsification, and viscosity measurement.

  • Understanding of the functional properties, proper use, and the environmental impact of chemical ingredients

  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and instruments, such as balances, pH meters, viscometers, and spectrophotometers.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, able to document procedures, results, and observations accurately and efficiently.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly and concisely.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges and propose solutions.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with laboratory protocols and procedures.

  • Position is Full-Time, regular business hours, Monday-Friday

  • Ability to lift 10 - 40 pounds

  • Travel up to 5%

  • Position is not eligible for remote work
